Advice please...

I just want to get a few things off my chest concerning the past few days. Regarding what is going on health wise with me both physically and mentally.

Saturday August 13 2016 I started my 2 week pre-op gastric sleeve surgery diet this diet consists of drinking 5 to 6 8 oz protein drinks and lots of water to stay hydrated. I may also have unsweetened tea, coffee and crystal light mix drinks, as long as they are sugar free. Up until this time I was preparing myself for this huge eating change and diet change. I stopped soda consumption and I was attempting and actually succeeding in cutting down on what I was eating. Now just so there is NO Doubt in anyone's mind and there will be no one saying this was done because I am to lazy to exercise, I will say this one LAST TIME...I have and injured ankle that surgery didn't fix, now is that because of my weight at the time of that surgery, I honestly don't know. I did however from the original work injury suffer from meniscus tears in my knee. I have now degenerative discs in my back according to x-rays so walking let alone exercising right now is out of the question. Right now I am either using a cane or sit down type of walker to get around until I see a back doctor in September.

Ok back to where I was, sorry I get scattered brained sometimes. Where was I, oh I remember...I was really 100% in all the way for this life style change. I even had goals of once I lose enough weight I would visit some amusement parks and ride roller coasters again even go to the beach with family. I wouldn't be worried about being an embarrassment to my wife and step-kids when we went places. I wouldn't have the thoughts that people were looking at the fat guy that's out in public embarrassing his family like that.

Now ok here is the stuff that has gone on. Before the liquid diet for the past few months I have been battling severe spells of dizziness and spells where I thought I was on the verge of passing out. Sometimes its mild and other times its so intense I have to sit back down. Two months ago this happened when mom had her stroke I almost passed out in the ER if it wasn't for the nurses. My white blood cell count was 15,000, that is kind of high. (not explaining if you're curious look it up) My blood pressure at the time was 60/40 also not good. They stabilized me then let me go with the warning that if it happens again seriously come back. I was still suffering from dizzy spells went to my primary care DR. and since I have IEHP I have to wait for the go ahead to see specialists and such.

Fast forward to Saturday August 13, 2016 I start my diet and for good measure I quit smoking (by the way as of this writing I have gone 11 days without smoking completely cold turkey). Following my diet like the bariatric place wants me to keeping hydrated drinking my shakes keeping an pretty upbeat attitude while doing so considering my mental problems with depression and anxiety. The only problem is the spells are happening more frequently. Now Saturday August 20th mom and myself go to Bass Pro Shops well because that is an outdoors persons Disneyland, even if I am not able to do a lot right now, it's the whole soon I will be a thinner healthier person might as well look for thing to look forward into doing. Now again still following diet guidelines I am staying hydrated like I am supposed to but I keep getting dizzy spells and feeling like I am going to faint. We decide to have lunch yes I broke my diet but stayed within my range of calorie count and protein. It didn't help we get home I take my blood pressure and its 80/40. I then go to Redlands Community Hospital where my blood pressure slowly continues to drop.

They run a ton of tests and take what I think is about 20 vials of blood. After about 8 or more hours I honestly don't remember, one of the doctors come in and let me know that my blood pressure is stable again but they are going to admit me for observation. During all of this up until Monday when i was released my white blood cell count was 19,000 and my kidney function was wonky. Monday I get released with advice that I see my primary doctor, a neurologist, and a hematologist. Now this is what I was sent home with explaining what they found.

Reason for Visit: HYPOTENSION,ARF ON CKD, LEUKOCYTOSIS,
DISCHARGE DIAGNOSIS: ACUTE RENAL FAILURE
If you don't know look them up

Now because of all of this I have had to postpone the surgery again. Part of me is telling me that maybe this is a sign from a higher source telling me to make sure these other health problems get dealt with first before I continue on with my gastric bypass surgery. I am at a loss in all honesty this is workers comp that is paying for it but all these other problems are not associated with my work injury so I will have to go through IEHP to get all the different tests done that Redlands suggested which isn't a problem. So the question I have is, should I let my lawyer to start settlement proceedings and then look into IEHP maybe getting me the surgery after I get these other more pressing matters looked at. I know IEHP will cover the bariatric sleeve surgery.

Well that is about it for me thank you for taking the time and reading this post.

Please Please leave a comment or message me on facebook if you have any suggestions or helpful words that could help.
